AIChe chapter wins top student award


The college’s student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) was recently recognized as Auburn University’s 2008-2009 Student Organization of the Year, an award given once a year by Auburn’s Student Government Association (SGA). The chapter was recognized at a banquet hosted by SGA in the Student Center ballroom. The Auburn chapter is advised by faculty members Steve Duke, Bob Ashurst and Mark Byrne. AIChE is the world’s leading organization for chemical engineering professionals, with more than 40,000 members from 93 countries and more than 160 student chapters across the country.
